Weekends by Hayzle + Other Stories

Recent weekend treated me really nicely that I am having a hard time letting him (yes, my weekend has a gender and is a male coz he is sexxxay!) go.

  • Friday. (is not really weekend, i know) Was spent still working in Taytay for community medicine, then packing up my things whilst fighting the urge to huhucry, then we left for Manila. Then at my flat, unpacking whilst fighting the urge to huhucry. I had Katy Perry's song in my head.
  • Saturday. I went to the gym and burned those fatties. LOLJK. I slept all throughout the day, played Temple Run in between while eating.
  • Sunday. Made a serious attempt of writing my family case study, but all I did was attempt. Well, at least I was able to rewrite my interview notes into a more decent paper. Boyfriend was on-duty so I was homebuddy hehe.
  • Monday. Ohwow Monday has become weekend, really? Went to UERM first for a shifting exam in ComMed, which I apparently passed minus studying asffghkl;;. After realizing that we did not have a review in the afternoon, boyfriend and I headed to Tagaytay for pizza and beer at Carlo's Pizza. Some photos from my point-and-shoot:
Weather was great!
Sausages in Olive Oil
Messicana Pizza
Lasagna

Earlier today I went to UERM for an orientation with Surgery. Lesigh.

Hayzle's Christmas Wishlist 2011!

Since Christmas is just a month a way and this is the season of wishlist blogposts, let me have my version of Christmas wishlist. Also, this post is dedicated to you, generous people, so that I may spare you from the hassle of thinking of what to give me for this Christmas (haha! but seriously...)

A Very Belated Birthday Wishlist

Greetings from the OBGyne JI lungga! I am on a post-duty status, but I still have to stay here until 5 pm today. The good thing is I am 'untouchable'. I do not need to do JI chores, hence this blog post.
I am perfectly aware that my birthday was 2 weeks ago, but my life is boring, thus I am posting a wishlist.

I am eyeing this 13-in MacBook Air or...

...this Acer TravelMate TimelineX

This one is bordering from want and need. At present, I have this Acer TravelMate 6292 laptop, which I have been using for ~4-5 years now. It's still in its tip-top shape, but getting a new one seems delish :) My parents aren't saying yes to this idea, yet. Hihi.

Dolce & Gabbana Snowboard watch
This also borders want and need. Heh. But I already talked to my parents about it and mom said 'we'll see' which could be interpreted to a yes. I just hope she finds this watch from Dolce&Gabbana or at least something that looks like it.

MAC Candy Yum Yum lipstick from Quite Cute collection
I've been eyeing this MAC's Candy Yum Yum lipstick from their Quite Cute collection. It's already sold out in the online store while I still couldn't find this from the MAC stores here in Manila. Already talked to boyfriend about this <3 I am also thinking of buying MAC's Peachykeen blush, probably as a gift to self.
Zara TRF Doctor Bag

Another probable gift to self is this bag unless somebody with a generous heart would buy me this. I am thinking of buying this one when I have extra money from my meager allowance.

Sembreak 2010 with sisses at Batangas
With brods and sisses at Tali Beach, Nasugbu, Batangas

With UERM Medicine Class 2012B in Bolinao, Pangasinan last year
To detox for a day or two by going to the beach, getting drunk (or at least just get a drink), or going to a spa.

Good times!

I am being a bad blogger that I am.  The previous weeks' had not been my kind my busy but I wasn't in my blogging mood--just because.  These are the things that happened in the past week.

  • February 10. To celebrate the end of surgery preceptorial and finishing the 200-item shifting exam (WTF, i know), some of the surgery girls--Olive, Nikki, Abby, Jessa, and I, went to Agave! Awesome food really especially the garlic sauce, which reminded me of UAE.

Agave's Strawberry Margarita

  • February 12.  Phi Alpha Sigma sorority celebrated its 50th anniversary at Richmonde Hotel! I am supposed to blog something for this, but not now. <3 I love you sisses!

My ever-gorgeous batchmates! <3
Very awkward pose!
What I wore:
Jumpsuit, Details at The Ramp
Necklace, The Ramp
Belt, R.A.F.
Taupe clutch, Accessorize
Lace-up stilettos, Nine West

February 14, 16, 17. These are among my favorite days this month! Although I am not exactly a fan of V-day, V-day has been extra special because of my boyfriend's surprise i-harana Mu! hehe. Also his birthday was last Feb 16, then our nth monthsary on the 17th. No photos. Hehehe.

  • Feb 16. Also in Feb 16, we had our annual Alphan project: Serenade at the Wards. In the spirit of V-day, we serenaded the charity ward patients and give them goodies!
I cannot enumerate. Phi Alpha Sigma sorority and Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity.
  • February 18.  We had a medical/surgical mission with San Juan Medical Society!

  • February 19. Graduation pictures! Ok, so I am still on my 3rd year and I still have a year to deal with clerkship, but we do have our graduation pictures taken since we will be busy next year.

For my creative shot, I am a feline. I am confused if I were a cat or tiger.
Tiger headband, Toy Kingdom
Black dress, Zara TRF
With my awesome medschool barkada-PPG!
  • Feb 19. So after the shoot, Vin, Jes, Kenj, and I went tried Thousand Teas and their popping pearls was really poppin' (lol). Then, I had to rush to my boyfriend's fraternity's event--QEFF at PICC. Of, course, I had to remove my make-up, else I would look weird. Congratulations Mu Sigma Phi.

Luck and other things

I was supposed to get back on my blogging last night but I had to catch up on my sleeping. This week had been busy and very stressful thanks to the long exams. As to how I fared the past week, I am putting on a list coz I am lazy like that <3

  • Exam week practically means staying up late--very late, for reviewing. It was sleeping at 6 am, then waking up at 8 am for an exam on 9. How I managed to stay up was through caffeine and, of course, the idea of an impending doom if I fail. How I managed to stay sane, I stuff myself with comfort food. How I fared in my exams, I am putting it on the hands of divine intervention and luck.

Espresso Frapuccino. They finally perfected my name.

California Berry in Mezza Strip is finally open! This is my favorite--Cherry on Top.

  • Speaking of luck--(Belated) Happy Lunar New Year. Apparently, this year is the Rabbit's year, which happens to be my year. I hope it will really be my year.

Bunny Head Ring from Forever21
  • Awhile ago my mom left for UAE. I miss UAE especially Sharjah and Dubai. JSYK, I lived in UAE when I was still in high school. I just returned to the Philippines for college. I used to have summer vacations until I attended summer classes. During med school, I visited every summer, which I won't be able to do this year because of clerkship.

  • I also went to Greenhills today--home of knock-offs. I bought a generic bandage skirt in black for Php 550 (less than $10). I will probably take a picture of it sometime soon. I wasn't able to buy a wide legged pants, so if anyone here who knows where I can buy it on an unexpensive price (less than Php 1,000), please tell me.

  • Meanwhile...as of yesterday...

56 days until clerkship!

Busy week. Very, very busy week.

The past week has been quite busy--a little less busy than exams week, so I missed out on blogging.  I have a lot of pictures to post for the part 2 of my Ilocos post, most of them are already edited, but I still haven't got the time to actually post them into a blog.  While the rest of the week was typical, I put into a list those that aren't.

  • After 2 weeks, this awesome baby is finally in my hands! And yes, obvs, I joined the Apple hype.  To be fair, iPhone 4 is actually a decent phone.  A very nice retina display, dual camera with flash, and all the apps that make it more awesome--mine is 5 % school-related, 10 % photography-related, the rest games.  I also bought it a SwitchEasy Reptile in black.

  • Currently reading:  Porno by Irvine Welsh.  The read's kind of dragging, but still a great story to read.  I haven't finished reading Trainspotting, but Powerbooks in Rob Midtown doesn't have a stock of Trainspotting, hence I settled for its sequel, Porno.  The plus is the funny reactions I get whenever people see me reading Porno.

  • OR Thursdays and Friday dramas.  We were able to observe herniorraphy and a lung decortication.  And Fridays have turned stressful due to surgery.

Photo credit to my groupmate Nikki.

  • To make Friday a better day than it is, I watched The Tourist with boyfriend.  The movie is really cute, but not in a chick flick way.  Also, Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp are both my favorite celebrities.

  • Last ward immersion at Surgery.  Yep! This is the so-called weekend stealer in which we have to stay at a ward from 6 pm til 6 am of the next day. We were able to witness a CTT to relieve the patient's pneumothorax.
