Dog Days are Over

Or maybe not...

I've already survived a month of my post-graduate internship--11 months to go! And obviously, this blogpost is a month late and is past the graduation season. (Heck, it's even back to school season butwhocares)

Hello. I am Hayzle A. Mallari, M.D.
This is the 5th graduation of my life. My med school graduation was held on the 22nd of April, which is the day before my birthday and is (one of) the best birthday gifts I could ever receive! I am beyond words happy and I will fail to articulate how I felt that day.

Quick update: This has been March 2012

After a few days or weeks of slacking off from blogging, I am back. I was meaning to blog earlier since clerkship has finally ended in March; however, there came the Holy Week which was mostly spent in La Union where I do not have a decent internet connection but an awesome beach backyard. Then, the make-up duties for my tardiness and lost radio plates, boo.

Meanwhile, this has been March 2012. Crazy lovely, busy and bittersweet March.

On the way home from Amang Rodriguez Medical Center in Marikina City.

Erratic weather during March. Bipolar. Hate the rain. Hate the sun. Just bipolar.

Five years. Beat that. Five years of lesexytime love...and probably a little hate aka petty fights. Also, this photo collage makes a good documentation of my long hair-short hair adventures. But with the same guy <3

Chest X-ray of one of our patients in Amang Rodriguez Medical Center.
Apparently, she accidentally swallowed a coin--probably a five-peso coin.

Outside rotation for surgery was held in Amang Rodriguez Medical Center in Marikina City for 10 days. Ten days of from-duty-from status sans preduty. What I love most about outside rotations such as this was the time of commute. It was 'thinking time' for me sans worrying about being late and whatever horrors that await me.

Counting down!

OSCE muna. Or was this repeat OSCE?

And then, clerkship ends. Where to next?

Weekends by Hayzle + Other Stories

Recent weekend treated me really nicely that I am having a hard time letting him (yes, my weekend has a gender and is a male coz he is sexxxay!) go.

  • Friday. (is not really weekend, i know) Was spent still working in Taytay for community medicine, then packing up my things whilst fighting the urge to huhucry, then we left for Manila. Then at my flat, unpacking whilst fighting the urge to huhucry. I had Katy Perry's song in my head.
  • Saturday. I went to the gym and burned those fatties. LOLJK. I slept all throughout the day, played Temple Run in between while eating.
  • Sunday. Made a serious attempt of writing my family case study, but all I did was attempt. Well, at least I was able to rewrite my interview notes into a more decent paper. Boyfriend was on-duty so I was homebuddy hehe.
  • Monday. Ohwow Monday has become weekend, really? Went to UERM first for a shifting exam in ComMed, which I apparently passed minus studying asffghkl;;. After realizing that we did not have a review in the afternoon, boyfriend and I headed to Tagaytay for pizza and beer at Carlo's Pizza. Some photos from my point-and-shoot:
Weather was great!
Sausages in Olive Oil
Messicana Pizza
Lasagna

Earlier today I went to UERM for an orientation with Surgery. Lesigh.

Community Medicine: The last few days in Taytay

I do not mean to make this mellow-dramatic.

But there is this tinge of sadness for leaving Taytay probably because of the attachment I've made with the place for living there for most of the month. Also, probably this had been the most relaxing rotation I've had or will ever have.

Community Medicine Weeks 1 & 2

Community Medicine aka Commed is our most awaited rotation during clerkship. Yep, since day 1 in April, we've been looking forward to this rotation.
This vacation-esque rotation is set in the suburbs of Taytay, Rizal, which isn't exactly very far from UERM.  In fact, it's just a G-liner away! But UERM is so kind to fetch us from school every Tuesday to bring us to Taytay. Then come Friday when the same van fetches from Taytay to UERM.
Anyway, here goes photos c/o Pepin Mendieta & FX Mislang.

Lantern Queen '11

Last 14 December 2011, the Phi Alpha Sigma brought you one of UERM's annual traditions--Lantern Queen. The said pageant is joined by very lovely ladies from the College of Physical Therapy and different batches and sections from the College of Medicine. Proceeds of this event goes to the OB-Gyne Ward.

Hala Bira!

Clinical clerks aren't just built for sleepless duty nights and other countless responsibilities. Other talents include singing, dancing, directing an entire production, costume designing, actual sewing of the designed costume, props making, etc. Hellyeah House Staff Party 2011!!!
For this year (this is actually my first time to watch and be part of the house staff), the theme was Paskong Fiesta sa UERM. Here goes some photos of our behind-the-scenes and actual performances:
