Come May that things were a bit better and this appetite is back with a vengeance; hence, this blogpost of recent gastronomic adventures around the Metro.
Soms Authentic Thai Restaurant
Within Rockwell in Makati. We almost missed it as this seemingly hole-in-the-wall Thai restaurant hides along Aligier St. Thai food may not be at its best, but who am I to complain when it's rather affordable.
Photo from here |
Excuse the crappy photo. But we had Tom Yum, Pandan Chicken and Pad Thai (not in photo). |
Bellini's
Located at the Cubao Expo aka CubaoX, where the hipsters are. Ironically, a John Lloyd movie was once shot here. In case you don't know, they serve Italian food--pizza, pasta, risotto... But I already forgot what we ate.
We are not your JL-Bea loveteam. |
UCC Cafe Terrace
SM Mall of Asia, you don't need directions to get here. And we all know that UCC serves one of the best coffees.
Coffee for the from-duty! |
Dubbing Pinoy Mais con Hielo in a cake. Soft, fluffy vanilla cake with corn kernels and flakes. |
Chocolat
Along Wilson St. in San Juan City. Chocolate lovers unite!
Frozen Hot Chocolate + Death by Tablea |
Buffet101
Again in SM Mall of Asia, along the San Miguel by the Bay area.
With the best katakawan buddies. |
My dessert place--a sample of their panna cotta, mousse, and jellos. |
R & J Bulalohan
Near Mandaluyong Circle. Beside a Petron station. This is our pahabol food trip in May.
Day 3-mates may be the most matakaw. Look at that table! By the way, we are on a post-duty status. |
