Too slow when handwritten

I hate blinking cursors that stare at me for a couple of minutes while my thoughts are left--blank.  Like right now.

At 4AM, I am still up.  I just finished my part of our pediatrics transcription, which I just sent to my partners who'll add some more stuff. I am glad I am done with it so I can now proceed to review.  I seriously need to study for the exams, which starts on Monday.  This Monday. Panic.

Studying means reading these transcriptions and then highlighting the important points. Then, probably, I will rewrite some notes on the back of their pages so I could remember them. You see, I like writing. My middle finger is actually calloused from writing too much. I like seeing my handrwritting coz I think I have a really nice penmanship.

Handwritten notes are more personal. Handwritten letters are sweeter than e-mails or short messages aka texts. So maybe, I will write you a love letter some time <3 But for now, excuse me while I try to get myself a better future as I ace my upcoming exams. I kid with the word ace--I just want to pass.

De-clutter

LOL at my thumb.  Nail polish is Rimmel Pro in Fancy Fuchsia

My boyfriend (his mom, actually.  Thanks, tita!) gave me this really awesome purse organizer! You see, I have quite a number of bags and purses, but I only use one--not because of 'favoritism' or 'loyalty' (lol), but because of lassitude.  I don't like the idea of migrating all my stuff from one bag to another.  That's too tedious for my lazy ass.  But this lovely thing makes it easier to transfer my things to another bag or purse.  Also, this organizes and de-clutters my bag.

De-clutter:  Pen pockets and even more pockets! It also has a key clip (not shown in the photo)

De-clutter:  And it has card holder that can fit up to 6 cards! Perfect!

Can you make it to the end of the deja vu?

I have a little less than a week until the 5th long exams. If I were still in college, this wouldn't bother me. But this isn't college anymore. This isn't even 1st year or 2nd year in med. I am already in my 3rd year and should I pass this year, I will be a clinical clerk starting April.

5th LE should be nothing different than previous LEs except, of course, its lecture coverage. Still, like the previous exams, I prepare for the long exams by printing transcriptions (transes), reading them, highlighting them, reviewing them...blah blah.

I've been using this printer (HP 1315) since college. This printed college's lab reports, critic papers, research papers, and even my undergraduate thesis (part of it!). Currently, I am using it to print transes and patient papers. Now, I am out of printer ink and bond papers. FML.

My basic needs include: my "lucky" G-tec pen, liquid eraser, and HIGHLIGHTERS! LOL at Stabilo's free ballpen.

Earlier today, I went to my favorite coffee shop to do some serious studying. Look at their funny attempts to spell my name right.

This is really going to be a busy week for me with all these transes I have to study. So excuse me while I try to get myself pass my 5th LE. <3

Busy week. Very, very busy week.

The past week has been quite busy--a little less busy than exams week, so I missed out on blogging.  I have a lot of pictures to post for the part 2 of my Ilocos post, most of them are already edited, but I still haven't got the time to actually post them into a blog.  While the rest of the week was typical, I put into a list those that aren't.

  • After 2 weeks, this awesome baby is finally in my hands! And yes, obvs, I joined the Apple hype.  To be fair, iPhone 4 is actually a decent phone.  A very nice retina display, dual camera with flash, and all the apps that make it more awesome--mine is 5 % school-related, 10 % photography-related, the rest games.  I also bought it a SwitchEasy Reptile in black.

  • Currently reading:  Porno by Irvine Welsh.  The read's kind of dragging, but still a great story to read.  I haven't finished reading Trainspotting, but Powerbooks in Rob Midtown doesn't have a stock of Trainspotting, hence I settled for its sequel, Porno.  The plus is the funny reactions I get whenever people see me reading Porno.

  • OR Thursdays and Friday dramas.  We were able to observe herniorraphy and a lung decortication.  And Fridays have turned stressful due to surgery.

Photo credit to my groupmate Nikki.

  • To make Friday a better day than it is, I watched The Tourist with boyfriend.  The movie is really cute, but not in a chick flick way.  Also, Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp are both my favorite celebrities.

  • Last ward immersion at Surgery.  Yep! This is the so-called weekend stealer in which we have to stay at a ward from 6 pm til 6 am of the next day. We were able to witness a CTT to relieve the patient's pneumothorax.

Visiting Ilocos: Part 1

Since our family spent Christmas in La Union, we decided to go to Ilocos Sur (South) & Norte (North) since they are just about 5-6 hours drive from our place.

Our first stop was Ilocos Sur.  We visited Vigan.

Ah, this life.

Clock says it's already 1:05 AM. I am still up with the TV on while I am busy writing a paper for our preceptorial class for medicine tomorrow later at 10 AM. But I still have my pediatrics class to attend at 8 AM.

This is my probably my life's constant rant as of the moment. Well, this has been since I entered medschool.  Soon enough, my rant will still be over this lack of sleep.  But that time, as a clinical clerk.  Clerkship should start this April 1 if I should pass all my subjects this year.  God help me.

So for tonight I am studying and writing about our patient's case, which is probably a chronic kidney disease secondary to her diabetes mellitus and hypertension.  But I am terribly sleepy already.

On a totally unrelated note, I have a bunch of photos to post here about how the holidays were spent, but I still haven't got the time.  But I will post ASAP. <3

'Tis obligatory happy new year post, new blog, and other things

Hello.

This isn't exactly a new blog. It's the same one I had for quite some time now, but never bothered to fix. I deleted all of my previous posts and changed its title to start anew. For the nth time, I hope to keep this one. I have quite a short attention span, you guys. So this isn't your hello-this-is-a-new-blog post, more like hello-again or...i don't know anymore.

Since I deleted my previous posts, I am posting here pictures of how 2010 has been. 2010 wasn't exactly the best year I ever had. In fact, it wasn't all good to me with all the drama that happened. But great things did happen in 2010.
